The juice
* Pin up boy for the night John Abraham was a picture of humility and warmth as he played the perfect host at the launch of his calendar and personally greeted each guest at the entrance. There were no starry airs around John who even gave a few autographs to the staff at the venue. “The calendar is not about narcissism. It is just a tasteful and unique venture which Subi, Zee Muzic and I came up with and it was great working for it.”
* Photographer Subi Samuel shared John’s excitement as well. “John and I were shooting for ‘Karam’ when we chanced on the idea together. It was really awesome to shoot him as he surely is one the greatest bodies in the industry and a very interesting subject to shoot.”
* Bipasha Basu came with her whole family including her father, mother and two sisters. Bipasha revealed she had chosen the January cover for the calendar. She playfully jabbed Subi on his elbow and joked that it was actually her idea that Subi shoot an exclusive Bipasha calendar, but Subi conspired with John for his calendar instead.
* Dia Mirza was mesemrised by all the images and said that she is going to “...kill Subi, because he never shot me like this ever.”
* The highlight of the evening was the presence of filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kajol who made a short but very impactful visit. There was a minor frenzy as Kajol made her way to look at the pictures with Subi and a minor entourage. “Subi, you are in your element here,” remarked Kajol in her typical firebrand nonchalant way. She later bonded with Bipasha in Bengali and even complimented John on his work.
