The much awaited 24 page Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar is out on Sunday in Mumbai in a glittering ceremony, which saw a flock of models from the fashion circuit.
On its 6th edition, the calendar is a masterpiece in itself. Shot in some of the best locales in India and aboard, and with some of the hottest models in the fashion circuit world, this is one of the most wanted calendar in India.
Beauty, glamour, sensuality and sexiness, a concoction of all this and more makes the calendar one of the most sought after products in the modelling circuit. Though the winters are here, there's something that is surely heating up the place.
The Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar was launched by model turned actor John Abraham in the presence of Vijay Mallaya, the flamboyant Chairman of the United Breweries Group and Kingfisher Airlines.
"We have shown that this is an excellent launching pad for models to launch their career. You take the case of Yana Gupta, Piya Trivedi and Katrina Kaif. All of them have been in the Kingfisher calendar," says Vijay Mallya.
While the models are turning into Bollywood superstars and the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar does have its fair share of claim.
"Yes. You heard it right. Apart from being just a visual treat, the calendar has been a launching pad for many of the names mentioned by Vijay Mallya. And just for your information, the new bombshell of Bollywood Deepika Padukone made heads turn with her sexy avataar in a bikini for the calendar," says a visitor to the function.
While Deepika is now lapping up all the adulation from people all across the country, what do the other models have to say about being a part of this?
"Just another photo shoot or a direct headway to Bollywood," says one model.
