Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor is ready with the first look of his upcoming film starring John Abraham, called Aashayein.

Though John Abraham couldn't make it for the first showing of the trailor of Aashayein, but his parents filled in for him.

The film has a message, and the team behind the movie is making sure that people get the message, without revealing too much of the plot.

"Especially with this film it was very critical apart from the cinematic experience, that when you leave you leave with those three words — live life now," says Kukunoor.

The film also stars newcomer Sonal Sehgal who plays John's love interest, Anahita Nair of Chak De India fame also stars in the film.

Sonal says, "Its not a preachy film, it just reminds us about something which we so forget. As we are caught up with so much in our day to day business that we forget to enjoy little moments in life."

Veteran actress Farida Jalal who for a change is not playing a mother, is quite happy with her part in the film.

"When you're doing a role like that which is not a role of a mother's, you're mouthing different lines, you’re using different set of expressions and it makes a lot of difference as an actor," says Jalal.

Aashayein hits theatres on June 20.
