In a first of its kind, never seen before avatar model turned actor, John Abraham who had earlier proved his acting skills in movies like Jism, Zinda and Water, is all set to feature in a music video for internationally renowned Pakistani rock band, Strings. This is the lead video from Strings’brand new album Koi Aanay Wala Hai.
Koi Aanay Wala Hai is Strings’ latest album after a gap of 4 years, to be released in India by SONY BMG on May 19, 2008. Their popularity over decades is attributed to their significantly different approach to the music and lyrics. It was only expected that they will be absolutely different and unique in their new album. This time round, they have teamed up with leading Bollywood hunk John Abraham who is an integral part of the project.
The most expensive Indipop video ever, Koi Aanay Wala Hai has been shot in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Leading ad filmmaker and director of the video, Ravi Udyawar has created a masterpiece with exceptional camera work and special effects. Shot on 35 mm, the video showcases stylish direction as well as post-production, with the SFX itself taking almost 3 months of post production work. This includes editing the huge cranes from the frames, digitally simulating John’s avatar and his flying stunts. The basic concept of the video is, ‘There is an angel watching over everyone.’ John features as an angel who sights a beautiful girl in trouble. He falls in love with her and chooses to become human to be with her forever.
This video will be premiering on India’s leading music channel MTV on May 12th 2008. Moreover, a snazzy 90 second promo will be run across theatres in India from May 16th. This will be the first time ever that an Indipop video will have a theatrical showcase.
Looking forward to the prospect of this exceptional project, Shridhar Subramaniam, Managing Director SONY BMG says, “We have been associated with Strings for over 5 years now and have released great stuff like Dhaani and Najanay Kyu. Now a part of this longstanding relationship is John Abraham with Koi Aanay Wala Hai and that’s truly a matter of pride for us. The music and the video are exceptional. So we’re very sure of a great response to this one!”
The music of the album Koi Aanay Wala Hai takes a lot of inspiration from contemporary British rock & music from 60's and 70's. It features 8 energetic tracks composed by the duo Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood. Both Faisal and Bilal have sung in the album they believe it’s their best work so far. The album is bound to generate phenomenal response to its great music and amazing video.
