Lee Flisher has my dream job. Protecting John Abraham, what could be better? Although I think Lee could probably do a better job at it, but hey I have muscles too! I mean business! Check out my exclusive interview with Lee, John's body guard from the set of 0-800 Love!
Reshma: How did you get interested in this line of work? Lee: I've been in the security industry for 10 years now from being a security guard to a club bouncer so suppose I just wanted to try something new and become a body guard. Reshma: What was a typical day on location for you like? Lee: Obviously my main focus of course was on John and making sure he was comfortable on set. Also the safety and security aspects. But mainly being there for John and standing by his side on different locations and everywhere he went.
Reshma: Were there a lot of fans coming to the shoots? Lee: Different days there were different amounts of people. Sometimes throughout the day there would be a steady number of fans stopping to see John but locations were kept low key and secret to crew only. A lot of fans couldn't believe it was actually John onset and when finally convinced, would be on the phone to all their friends. So you could imagine how many more fans would turn up. The Bollywood fans of John that I have come across have to be possibly the most polite and patient people ever. They are always smiling whether they have been waiting to see John for 30 minutes, 1 hour or all day! They have never given myself any major problems!
Reshma: Did you get a chance to watch any Bollywood films before you started working on the set? Lee: I had watched a few clips of John from various films such as Goal, No Smoking and Kabul Express on YouTube but it was not until John had lent me Dostana to watch that I came addicted to Bollywood! I have just ordered New York so will be watching that shortly and will let you know how I get on!
Reshma: Did the crew hang out a lot after shoots? What was a favorite hang out place for everyone? Lee: The crew as a whole got on extremely well! but as you are probably aware John Takes his work very seriously and did not really socialize after shoots as he had pages of script go through for the next day. But John is a great character and loves to socialize with friends.
Reshma: Favorite memory from the set? Lee: It has got to be with myself starring in the film with John as an extra! Keep your eyes peeled when the film is released because I'm there!
Reshma: Funniest story? Lee: We had lots of funny moments on set but a lot of them would have to be with my good friend Mike Ryan! He is Johns Fitness and Nutrition adviser. Mike is a pleasure to have around and always has a smile on his face. Mike, myself and John would have lots of laughs between us! I'm sure John would be more than happy to tell a few stories!
Reshma: Working with John anytime soon? Lee: John has another film coming up next year in London so will be working with each other very soon! Also I will be making an appearance in India very soon!!
Reshma: Are you excited to see the film? Lee: Oh well excited! I saw the film being made and I can tell you now that this is going to be great. The script is fantastically written and John has taken the role and he played it brilliantly!
Reshma: Did you know anything about John Abraham before you started working with him? Lee: Every client i go to work for I will always do research on before I meet them. This is because I need to know as much about them as possible as I will be around them 24 hours a day. I've got to add this bit in, working with John is one of the most professional, interesting and wonderful journeys I have done in a long while! Its been a pleasure to work with such a wonderful and kind human being! John admires his fans and is very grateful for there support for the past, present and future!
There you have it, a taste of what it was like to protect our boy. I can stand by John's side as well! Lee do you need an assistant by any chance?
