Women can’t resist John Abraham. Literally. On Valentine’s Day,
while on an UK tour for the premiere of his ‘Taxi No 9211’, the actor
was mobbed by a large number of hsyterical female fans, who chased,
groped and tried to get any and every bit of John to a point where
additional security had to be called.
Milan Luthria, the director of the film, was with John at that time. He recounts the incident with much amusement.

“We were at Cineworld Theatre at Bradford to promote our film. People
had started trickling in and before we knew it, there was a huge crowd
in front of us. First we spotted two girls, about 14-15 years, crying
because they were getting squashed in the crowd. John and I managed to
pull them out. Then we saw a little boy fainting. We had to help him
get to a safer place.”
The director says there were at least over thousand women trying their very best to kiss John.
“He was panicking as he couldn’t possibly kiss all of them! But quite a
few caught hold of his jacket and his clothes. Finally, John was forced
to jump on a table to speak to the crowd. But that didn’t stop one fan
to hurl herself at him. Luckily, he fell on his bodyguard and me,” he
says.
Though the trio managed to sneak out the movie hall, the moment they
reached the car, most of the female fans were all ready to chase him in
their cars!
“There was this girl in another car in front of us, sitting on the
window and blowing kisses to John. We were so worried she would hit a
lamp post that we stopped. She came running towards our car and fell on
it. John was really patient throughout the whole thing. He actually
couldn’t stop laughing. Now I know that John is really a hugely popular
star!” he concludes. |
