This site crashed under tremendous traffic pressure on the evening of 27th of February (India time). The webmaster tenders his apologies.

To begin with, let me first announce that this site was unavailable at various points in time between 2000Hrs (IST) on 27th February and 1700Hrs on 28th February, 2006.

This is an open apology to all who mailed us for clarifications and queries about the status of the site. We believe that we owe everybody and an explanation (not a justification) of the events which led to the crash.

This site has been optimized for a maximum of 50 hits per second, or about 180,000 hits a day. This is generally an overkill in the Indian scenario, considering the number of people online and the average traffic to personal promotion sites. At first, we believed we were justified in our calculations, considering the average rate of hits were between 40,000 and 60,000 per day.

The two days after the launch of Taxi 9211 showed us how horribly wrong our calculations had been. We received 603,000 hits in a day on the 26th, sending this site, the hosting service and the other websites hosted under that service into a crisis. The next day, we gathered another half a million hits before the hosting providers decided the pressure on their systems was too much to handle.

Spike in traffic after Taxi 9211 launch

The site is currently active using resources from various servers around the world. But soon, we will be adding permanent solutions to avoid a recurrence of the above episode.

Thank you all for bearing with us and we apologise once again for the inconvenience caused to John's fans, admirers, representatives of the media and all others.
